FREEDOM IS NOT DEAD
ADDENDUM TO LEASE APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED ATTACHED TO AND INTEGRAL TO LEASE APPLICATION AND SUBSEQUENT LEASE, IF OFFERED. THIS DOCUMENT OUTLINES THE PROCEDURES FOR OBTAINING A SURFACE LEASE FROM FREEDOMISNOTDEAD, INC.

FOR SECURITY REASONS THE SPECIFIC LOCATION OF THE PROPERTY BEING OFFERED FOR LEASE IS BEING HELD VERY CLOSELY.

Among other reasons, if the knowledge of the location of the property and leased premises were common knowledge there would be many people converging on the property expecting some sort of 'safe haven' or refuge which could be depended upon for sustenance. This is not the case. While we all would likely take pity on a starving soul, we do not need to attract people who would be objects of our charity.

YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO LIVE AS IF YOU ARE DEPENDING ON YOUR OWN ACTIONS AND EFFORTS FOR YOUR VERY LIFE. THIS IS NOT A COMMUNE, NOR IS IT A CHARITY EFFORT.

We, the directors and council of Freedomisnotdead, Inc. will be living on the site ourselves. We will be available to assist you in learning what is necessary to provide for yourself and your charges, but cannot assume any responsibility or obligation to actually provide you with sustenance.

You should look at this surface lease as a place to legally and legitimately set up your housekeeping at any time you think it is necessary to do so.

Likewise, we will act as good neighbors and help you to defend your person and property from criminal acts but you must understand that we are under no obligation to do so. Reciprocally, we would expect that you would extend that neighborliness to us but have no illusions that you are obliged to do so.

WATER WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE PROPERTY, BUT NOT NECESSARILY ON YOUR PREMISES. IF YOU DESIRE WATER AVAILABLE ON YOUR PREMISES, YOU MUST PROVIDE THE MATERIALS. WATER MAY NOT BE UNDER SUFFICIENT PRESSURE. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ADDITIONAL PRESSURE REQUIREMENTS.

Water will be as available to you as it is to any other resident, at the wellhead or other existing location. The water may only have as much pressure as the pull of gravity gives it. It will fill a tank or cistern, given time; it is up to you to get it into your structure at whatever pressure you require.

SEWAGE FACILITIES ARE NOT PROVIDED BUT MINIMAL PROVISIONS ARE REQUIRED.

This is about the only requirement imposed on any resident, and it is imposed because of health reasons. You must sufficiently arrange that any human waste production is attended to such that no odor is present off your premises, and any such provision for human waste is no closer than 100 feet to and downhill from, if applicable, any water well you may dig, drill or drive on your property. Additionally you must keep your human waste facility the same distance and elevation from any previously existing wells on neighboring premises. Bottom line is, first come first choice for locations, and you must keep distance from your neighbor's well as you do from your own. We all want to thrive and not incapacitate another.

YOU ARE TO TREAT THIS SURFACE LEASE AS IF IT WERE YOUR OWN.

You and your guests/co-occupants/family are free to do whatever it is that you wish to for survival, with the only provision being that you follow the waste distance outlined above. In having this freedom to do as you see fit, you also have to recognize your neighbor's privileges and rights regarding doing whatever he sees is proper and necessary.

If it doesn't damage you in deed you have the same recourse as does your neighbor: NONE. Damaging your sense of aesthetics or harmony or propriety is something you'll have to get over.

After all, you want to live your life free of regulation and constraint, it's only proper to grant that ability to your neighbor.

THE SIGNER OF THE LEASE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR EDUCATING ANY AND ALL OCCUPANTS OF THE LEASED PREMISES.

You are responsible for your guests, family, employees, sub-tenants, and any other person occupying your premises, to be aware of and follow the agreement as if they had been a signatory. Please share the text of it and ensure that all are aware of and observe the 'house rules'. There are few of them, and basically all can be expressed as follows: Don't bother folks, and they won't bother you. Thank you for your interest and we look forward to meeting our new neighbors!
